Installation guide for the Scania 3-spoke steering wheel adapter cable

Required equipment:

- Scania 3-spoke adapter cable

- Compatible steering wheel

Step 1 – Remove the original steering wheel:

Carefully remove the original steering wheel from your vehicle. Once removed, disconnect the connector and the clock spring located behind the steering wheel.

This ring is no longer required for the installation and can be kept in case you restore the vehicle to its original state.

Step 2 – Install the adapter cable:

Connect the adapter cable to the vehicle's original connector.

Each end of the cable is labeled to facilitate assembly. Ensure you follow the indications on the harness to correctly connect the steering wheel section and the controls section.

Step 3 – Connection to the control unit:

Route the adapter cable to the steering wheel button control unit by passing it through the cigarette lighter outlet slot. This method allows for a discreet, clean passage and facilitates the installation of the harness.

Once the cable is properly positioned, simply connect it to the control box designed for this purpose.

Step 4 – Horn connection:

The adapter cable includes a dedicated horn connection.

Connect this connector to your switch or push button to restore normal horn operation.

First solution cable 1:

The adapter cable has a connector for the horn, to place it elsewhere. To ensure the horn functions, use a spring-loaded switch. A simple press activates the horn instantly. Connect them to a spring-loaded switch!!! (Dashboard switch (two-position spring return))

An additional output is also provided for powering the illuminated button lighting.

Second solution cable 2: Restore all your horn functionalities with a direct connection to the 3-spoke steering wheel. The two cables will need to be reinforced to prevent breakage. If you have a solution, I am interested.

Be careful, there are two cables available.

Step 5 – Airbag configuration (if applicable):

For vehicles equipped with an airbag, it may be necessary to deactivate this function using suitable diagnostic software.

Without this operation, an airbag fault may remain displayed on the dashboard.
